FAQs

What do we do about unwanted Solicitors knocking on our doors?

DO NOT CALL THE BOARD. The board cannot do anything about solicitors. Our Covenants prohibit solicitation and we have signs posted at the entrances of our Community stating such. However, sometimes solicitors ignore the signs and come knocking anyway. If a solicitor comes to your door they must show a CITY PERMIT that should be worn on the outside of their clothing and in plain view. YOU SHOULD NOT OPEN YOUR DOOR UNLESS YOU KNOW WHO THE PERSON IS THAT IS KNOCKING! Talk to them with the door shut and locked. Explain that this is a no soliciting neighborhood and ask them to leave your property immediately or you will call the police. Another option to avoid being disturbed by solicitors is to post a NO SOLICITING sign on your front door or window near the door so it is clearly visible. If you have a sign posted they are not allowed to ring your bell or bother you….even if they have a permit.
